Culturally Responsive Therapy in San Francisco

Helping you thrive in a world that doesn’t always see your struggles

I grew up in the Bay Area, as a second generation Asian-American, surrounded by a kaleidoscope of different cultures, stories, and ways of looking at the world. My path into therapy began with a deep curiosity about people and a belief in our capacity for growth and healing. That lead me to earning my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, drawn to its holistic, integrative approach. My training there blended depth psychotherapy, somatic practices, and evidence-based tools, giving me a wide range of ways to support clients. Before that, I earned my bachelors degree at the University of California, Berkeley.

My therapeutic orientation is relational psychodynamic and depending on the client’s needs and comfort, I may incorporate somatic practices, cognitive behavioral therapy tools, parts work, Gestalt therapy, mindfulness or bibliotherapy.

In my work, I take the whole person into account—your racial and ethnic background, spiritual or religious beliefs, sexual orientation or gender identity, family history, and the communities that feel like home to you. I believe every story is shaped by culture, identity, and lived experience, and I see therapy as a space where all of that belongs. I welcome and work with clients of all backgrounds.
